LaTisha Palmer the Faces of Tucson AZ

LaTisha Palmer

Hello everyone, my name is LaTisha. After graduating from UA (Go Cats!) And receiving All-American accolades in Track & Field during my time there, I decided to pursue a professional running career which lasted about 6 years. As for the last 5 years, I have been making people feel and look amazing when it comes to their hair & skin.

I create in the most natural and organic way I know how by incorporating some of the best oils and butters in my products and services. But in my time away from work, I enjoy gardening and watching the beauty in nature, cooking with my husband, and spending quality time with our two daughters by playing games and reading our favorite books.

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
My husband Marcus and I have been married just about 8 years now and we have two beautiful daughters named Nicolette (6) and Norri (2).

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
My current career is cosmetology student/business owner. My past career was a professional hurdler for the US and a preschool teachers assistant. But I have always had a love for doing hair.

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
I love Lavernas Cafe and Guadalajara.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
I’ve lived in Tucson since 2007 and worked in the community since 2012.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
The most interesting person I’ve ever met in Tucson had to be my college/professional coach, Fred Harvey.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
If I could travel anywhere at this moment it would be to the Pink Sand beach in the Bahamas simply because of the natural beauty of this place. The ocean water is so clear and blue, the food is probably amazingly delicious, and the island looks like paradise.

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
One of my favorite movies has to be My Girl.

Q: What advice would you give to people?
I tell people to always enjoy the moment that you are present in. But if you can’t seem to find the joy…find the silver lining. Stay positive and chase the goals you have in mind for yourself until you’ve made it.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
I would like to travel to every other continent to enjoy and learn about whatever culture I’d be staying in.

Q: What is your go to band when you can’t decide what to listen to?
I always go to Ricky Dillard & New G or Hezekiah Walker

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
My handmade notes that come with every product purchase. Its almost like an at-home care list that has product info and personalized how to use tips.

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
I would have lunch with Taraji P. Henson because she is such an inspiration. Not only does she have a long movie and television career, she has recently launched her own haircare product line. I would have to take her to Zinburger for lunch and the Donut Bar for dessert downtown.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
I love the Tucson cultural murals on the buildings all around town.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
In 5 to 10 years I see myself as one of the go-to hair stylists in town. I also see my husband and I creating a legacy for our children in that time.

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
Something interesting that most people don’t know about me is that I love the simple things in life.

Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
The most beautiful place I’ve ever been was Eugene, Oregon because of the scenery which always gave me a postcard worthy picture. But of course, the Tucson, Az skies never let me down.

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
August is my favorite month. My favorite holiday is Christmas. And the best single day of the year is my birthday of course.

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
Something that I would rate a 10 out of 10 would be the education taught at the preschool I previously worked for.

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My daughters inspire me to be better.

Q: What is one or two of your favorite smells?
I love the smell of blooming flowers and delicious food cooking.

Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
When I think of the word home; cozy, safe, personalize comes to mind.
