Charles Pierce the Faces of Tucson AZ

Charles Pierce

I am a former football coach, current teacher, and strongman competitor studying to become an administrator in Tucson.

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I have a great family with two brothers and one sister.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I am hoping to move into administration. In the past, I have worked as a caregiver at United Cerebral Palsy. My favorite part about my current job is working with the kids and having the opportunity to improve their lives.

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
Nana’s Kitchen, Guadalajara Grill, and Pita Jungle

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
I’ve been living in Tucson for 15 years and worked in the community for the past 9.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
My strongman friends.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
Iceland!

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
Currently, I don’t watch much TV.

Q: What advice would you give to people?
To keep working hard and focus on your goals. Keep the end goal in mind while you’re in the present. Sometimes, we lose motivation when we lose sight of our end goal.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
I want to get my Phd someday.

Q: What is your go to band when you can’t decide what to listen to?
My go to singer is Johnny Cash.

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
Catalina State Park, while not a business, was always a great place to have an adventure as a kid.

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
Not sure

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
We have near perfect winter weather, which I’m sure many states are jealous of!

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
Hopefully beginning work on my Phd here in Tucson!

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I used to be very shy when it came to talking in crowds.

Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
Iceland.

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
November! Thanksgiving means more time with family.

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
Iceland.

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
Both of my parents, who worked hard to raise me.

Q: What is one or two of your favorite smells?
The smell at Zion National Park and a old barbell.

Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
Cactus, heat, and adventure.
